The model was made for a company called Jigaloo, which is also the name of a household lubricant/water repellant.

The final version of this model will appear on the side of semi-trucks in Canada, leaping from a spray can. I will post a pic of it in the near future.

This originally was only supposed to be the base model. I created it in 3DStudioMax and textured it in Photoshop. Since the job was on a very tight schedule, it became the final finished version. Hope fully, schedule permitting, I will be able to add finishing details like wrinkels in the costume in Z-Brush or Mudbox in the near future.
Antonia Bayle is the mascott of the PC video game "Everquest II", and this card design was my attempt at infusing her look with a nostalgic pinup style.

This card was a real joy to work on because I focused on having fun and keeping the mood festive since it was the Holiday Season.
I think it was a nice balance of sexiness and American nostalgia, pulling from an old Christmas pin up of Betty Page.

Toyota Trucks 2007 Logo (Vertical)

Here is the North American Toyota 2007 logo that I made for Toyota, Saatchi and Saatchi, and Transistor Studios.

This was a really fun logo to work on, and I got to meet a lot of really cool people while working on it.

I was first given a line drawing of the final approved shape, and then created a textured high res model of it while emulating the old chrome Toyota logo style. That attempt was eventually discarded.
After a few more subtle iterations, I was encouraged to take some liberties with it and put my own ideas into the surface texture by one of the Saatchi reps.
This encouragement led to me quickly developing the final logo, which was made into something more rugged, trying to capture a "made in America" feel to it, with surface imperfections and oil stains. This newer “tough” approach also complemented the marketing campaign plans very well.

As with all corporate logos, I met with many people along the way, taking their thoughts and concerns into mind while making this logo. When I was done with the 5k version, it was then handed off to other artists to "res up" into a 10k version for a convention billboard, as well as the commercials and print ads.

(I would also like to thank Saatchi and Saatchi, Jared at Transistor Studios, and Toyota for permission to use this logo in my portfolio.)

A paladin’s sword made for the Omens of War expansion.

Of all of the weapons that I designed for the Everquest expansion "Omens of War", I found this sword to be the hardest to design because it was the simplest. Since Paladins are righteous, holy characters, I thought it would be appropriate to subtly incorporate the overall shape of a cross, and add a fish motif in the shape of the pommel and scale pattern of the handle, alluding to being a "Fisher of Men".

In the end, I was very happy with this design, and felt that it had just the right balance of realism and stylization.

I created it by rendering the design in pencil, inking it in felt pen, and painting it in painter. I used Photoshop only to flatten the final layers and add text when it went to print. One of the best things I think I was able to accomplish was making the flame look as though it was rendered in watercolor.

It was recently included in the new ballistic publishing book "Painter" along with 6 other weapons I created.
The original design for the Tiger man and Dark Elf female were done by Blurr studios. I refined and slightly altered the design of the Dark Elf’s armor to improve the consistency of the armors design.

The picture is of a group of adventurers about to enter the mouth of a cave.

In the end this was a nice study and learning experience.

If I had the time to do it over, I would adjust the perspective on the water to better match the party, and would use a different face for the human ranger. The blue skin of the dark elf was really challenging since it tends to make her look a little lifeless in dim lighting.

Cyclopean Discord Priest

This was another character that I designed for the (PC game) "Everquest:Gates of Discord" expansion by Sony Online Entertainment.
It's of a very high ranking Cyclops priest.
Each skull represents the head of a King that was personally slain by this character. The leather and fur of his armor come from dragon hide, as well as the pink quills.
The glyph floating above his head was an idea that was directly borrowed from one of my favorite artists, Wayne Barlow, in his book Barlow’s Inferno.
It represents magic that is ready to be released on command as a weapon.
My own spin on this idea is that this glyph was given to him by a great dragon that he serves, and also has the power to teleport his army. It doubles as a beacon to his troops.
This character was intended to be 12 feet tall in game.
After I brushed the line work in India ink, I painted the picture in Photoshop. Just recently, I added the finishing touches in painter.
(This was one of a series of production concept pieces of villains I made. The unifying them in the series is the adaptation the creature’s eyes to enable them to function in a lightless environment, and the inclusion of dragon hide in their costume. Used with permission by Sony Online Entertainment. More coming soon!)
