Dark Elves Redefined
Photoshop
March 2006

When I created these concepts, I attempted to re-define the basic shapes and patterns that are normally used on Dark Elves like triangles and spider web patterns with rounded curves. Inspiration was pulled from Maori, Native American, and Japanese designs. All 3 of these cultures have heavily influenced much of my work.

All of the creature motifs used in the ornamentation of the armor are based on traditional RPG Dark Elf lore such as skeleton Knee and shoulder pads, beholder chest straps, and mind flayer hip guards.

This piece was created with pencil, brush and india ink, and then scanned and colored in photoshop. Though this is an older piece, I would love to hear feedback on the costume design.
