Hello, my name is Stone Perales, and I am a Southern California Video Game/CG artist currently working in the Los Angeles area.
Even though I specialize in sci-fi and fantasy art, almost everything I draw or sculpt is heavily influenced by nature. I have found that everything I need to produce great art can be learned from the natural world.
Some of my earliest influences were: Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Jacques Cousteu, Star Wars, Dungeons and Dragons, and J.R.R. Tolkien's the Lord of the Rings. These 5 things were the catalysts in shaping my artistic sensibilities.
Prior to entering the gaming industry as a computer artist, I was on my way to becoming a Veterinarian. As a Veterinary Technician, I spent many long hours assisting in surgery and necropsy, as well as illustrating surgical procedures which helped to build a strong base of knowledge in my understanding of animal anatomy.
I feel that my background in gaming and working with animals has equipped me well for the many creative design challenges that the sci-fi and fantasy genres bring.
